Arrival of The Beast

The Atik 4000 arrived yesterday but so did some unexpected non astro B and B guests so no chance to play under a clear sky. Pooh. Now it's cloudy. However, it's a big scary thing alright. Makes you feel like a scientist just holding it. I LIKE the set point cooling which enabled me to take an assorted library of darks at my leisure this afternoon while perfecting my new office (which some might describe as a garden shed - which it is.) The darks look pretty even and once AstroArt settled down and stopped doing odd things I tried subtracting the master dark from a stack of darks and, presto, pure black. So all looks well so far.
