Fujinon 10x42. I’m interested in buying a set but……

Recommended Posts

I’ve seen a nice pair for sale, I currently have a 16x70 set so I know the quality.

There is one thing that’s holding me back and I need someone who has a pair of 10x42 to confirm this.

When I’m looking at the objectives and oculars I see a white band which suggests that the edges of the glass is not blackened. Is this true? If yes can I remove the glass and blacken it myself? Does it show when viewing?

I bought my first roof prism binos last year, at first they looked good but as soon as I saw the white bands I couldn’t Unsee it! I have since given them to my nephews son who loves them, but then, he’s only ten, lol.

Most other binos I’ve had I can access the objectives and blacken the edges, it may not always improve the contrast but I no longer feel bugged by those white bands.
