Dew heater

Has anyone tried this Celestron dew heater or similar?

Do they work, any problems?

Yes I have one for the C11.

Works and I have had no problems except clouds.

I had one fitted to my C8 which worked just fine. I used mine in conjunction with a standard dew shield and only turned it on when the dew was particularly heavy.

Continuing this thread, I have a vintage C8 (1980s orange tube) and have asked Celestron if the dew ring is compatible. They said no due to the optical tube changing dimensions in 2006. @bosun21 could you confirm the dimensions on your C8, please? The dimensions for my C8 are: 

• Inner-diameter of the optical tube is 226mm
• width of the corrector ring is ~12mm
• Inner-diameter within the corrector ring is ~202mm
