PatrickO
Has anyone tried this Celestron dew heater or similar? Do they work, any problems? Thanks, Patrick https://www.firstlightoptics.com/dew-prevention/celestron-dew-heater-ring-for-sct.html Edited March 7 by PatrickO
Ibbo!
Yes I have one for the C11. Works and I have had no problems except clouds.

bosun21
I had one fitted to my C8 which worked just fine. I used mine in conjunction with a standard dew shield and only turned it on when the dew was particularly heavy.
SaffaSwede
Continuing this thread, I have a vintage C8 (1980s orange tube) and have asked Celestron if the dew ring is compatible. They said no due to the optical tube changing dimensions in 2006. @bosun21 could you confirm the dimensions on your C8, please? The dimensions for my C8 are: Inner-diameter of the optical tube is 226mm width of the corrector ring is ~12mm Inner-diameter within the corrector ring is ~202mm

If you don't get a reply here then you can ask the question in a separate post.
