Explore Scientific iEXOS-100 or Star adventurer gti?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to upgrade my mount, I've previously been using an eq5 with just an RA motor which works ok but I find very difficult to point at deep sky objects. I am also using a smaller refractor so I won't need the payload capacity of an eq5. I've been looking at the Explore Scientific iEXOS-100 and Skywatcher star adventurer gti and I like the look of them, and so was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and could recommend one (or a different goto mount around that price point).

Thanks,

Joe

I have used the SW SA-GTi and found it to be very reliable . I had an ED80 on it and whilst the scope was a bit heavy for it ,everything worked fine .

Don't forget good  polar alignment is needed for stable tracking .
