1st Attempt of M81

Hi

I took this image of M81 using the stock focuser on my SW200P coupled with a 450D in Prime Focus 30x10Secs @ ISO 1600 with DSS.

Can someone try to improve the pic please.

Very good start. You can even see a hint of the spiral structure emerging. You need more subs to bring more out.

I loaded it up in photoshop, but like Mick says, you need a lot more subs.

I couldnt really ring any more details out.

Also looks like you need a LP filter, I used Gradient Exterminator though, which fixed all the background.

I think Arran is right in what he says........... there is not a lot to be pulled out from the galaxy but if you work on it in isolation from the background it can be improved. The result is not Hubble quality but a bit more detail emerges helped by the application of a warm up filter to the centre and a cooling filter to the periphery.

Anyhow for what it's worth here's my effort.
