This is my first image of saturn, done with celestron C6 xlt and a meade LPI with 2x barlow. Its a small image, is there any way to improve this. I think focus is out a touch, what is best way to focus?

Used registax to process had two avi at about 800meg each, is this enough data to process. I know you can never have too much data. Would like any tips or advice on imaging saturn

Any feedback welcome, good or bad

The best way to focus is to do it again and again until you nail it!

Or use one of the focusing masks (hartmann, bahtinov) on a star and then move to Saturn. I shoot 250megs to 500megs at a time.

I rigged up a home made electric focuser and that helps but the trick is to try many nights and many times during a night until you hit the magic seeing conditions.

Some software (like astrosnap) will help you by giving an estimate of the pixel size of an imaged star, you want to tweak focus until that goes to a minimum.

Oh, and don't forget collimation!
