EEVA from a tripod

I am a naturally lazy person and am looking for ways to capture DSOs and planets without motorized astro mounting, pointing , long exposures, PixInsight and calibrations.
Currently I make do with exposures up to 2s , dobsonian for planetary imaging and a 3d printer.

For planetary imaging I use a script for SharpCap, which stabilizes the image by moving the ROI on the chip and allows to shoot a long enough video sequence.
The stabilization works with any size dobsonian.

Excellent results!

The script you use for planetary imaging, is it the built in SharpCap Feature Tracking function (under the Tools menu) or a Python Script? And if it is a script, can you share it?

Thanks. I tried this script with the test camera and got an error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 12, in <module>
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'Value'

Line 12 is: SharpCap.SelectedCamera.Controls.Pan.Value = start

It looks like the script moves the ROI by a set amount (in pan) while capturing images. I didn't have an ROI set as I wasn't using a camera, so maybe that was the cause of the error?

Do you find this script, just moving the ROI by a fixed amount, works better than the Feature Tracking function?
