Just a quite extraordinary event to witness, the whole thing probably took around 30-40 mins. Just vast amounts of energy and plasma launching off into space, I could see the breakaway plasma travel for thousands of miles. AR3397 seems to be where the flare originated.

Fingers crossed one of the solar imagers have caught this event!

Space weather has it recorded as a C5 (5.1) class solar flare. C class flares are classed as small which surprises me with the size of what I witnessed. I must catch an X class flare one day… 😅
