Debayer Superpixel

Recommended Posts

My ASI533 MC Pro camera captures 3008x3008 pixel images. I usually use it with my 250mm Redcat 51.

My final images after post-processing will be about 1200x1200 or similar so that they will be suitable for viewing on social media or forums.

So, if I'm not significantly cropping the fov, when I am debayering in Pixinsight I could choose method "super pixel" to give me a 1504x1504 image for speedier ongoing processing and smaller files.

Is that a reasonable thing to do or will I lose something by not keeping the full resolution until the end of post-processing?
