Power pack connections.

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Is there an adapter to connect my dew shield to my power pack.

The dew shield is a lynx astro and has a phono plug.

I can get a female phono plug adapter but don't know what to get the other end , some images below.

Yes you can buy one like this at FLO.

Or if you have a spare car socket plug wired to say a 2.1mm tip you could cut that and put a female phono plug on.

That would mean it runs at 12v (as does the FLO one listed above) and at full heat. A cheaper option could be a female phono to 2.1mm tip that could then connect to your 9v power socket and run at a lower temp or the a 12v supply with a 2.1mm socket.

Other vendors are available and diy is easy.

I think you can use the following item to connect your RCA phono club to the spare 12V cigarette lighter port on your power tank:

However, this wouldn't control the amount of current being drawn and the heater would would run at "full heat" all the time. You could instead use a controller similar to the ones below which connects to the tank via cigarette lighter plug and connects up to two RCA male cable connections. You can vary the power of the heaters, thus saving precious power!
