LP and Moon Filter Transmission

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the right place, but for interest I've measured the spectral transmission of the SkyWatcher Light Pollution Filter and Celestron (?) Moon Filter.

The LPF has major notches at 530, 580, 750 nm and minor notches at 430 and 460nm. This would knock out Mercury lamps at 436, 546 and 577 nm, and Sodium lamps at 570 and 583 nm. The notch at 500 nm may affect nebula viewing though.

The moon filter is fairly broadband with a transmission of about 15%. It goes up to 30% at the red end to enhance the surface features.
