Omegon 'Redline' eyepieces?

Hi everyone, long time lurker here but this is my first post, so if I have done anything wrong please do tell me.

Wondering if anyone here has experience with the Omegon redlines in shorter F ratio scopes, I was considering the 32mm for my 10" F5 dob but have read mixed impressions of them over on CN, maybe better to spend a little more and get a 28mm nirvana clone.

If you need long eye relief, I would steer you toward the 30mm APM UFF or one of its other brandings.  As you say, the 32mm is little better than an Erfle from what what I've read over the years, which is to say pretty bad at f/5.  It boggles the mind retailers ask more than $120 for them based on performance when there are $200 28mm UWAs that trounce it AFOV and correction-wise.

At 22mm, I can highly recommend the Omegon Redline since I've had the Astro-Tech AF70 version for years.  It is nearly perfect to the edge at f/6.  Only the last 5% shows mild astigmatism.  Eye relief is very comfortable, no vignetting, and no SAEP/CAEP.

I think the redlines are the same as the Celestron Ultima LXs, in which case there is no comparison at faster focal ratios. Buy the 82° 28mm unless weight is an issue in which case don't buy either of your options.

At f/5, I recommend only the 22mm and 17mm in that line.

The other focal lengths will all have significant problems in the scope.

The 32mm will be particularly bad.

Thanks for your advice, looks like I'll be buying the 28 UWA when funds allow.  

. . . . unless I can budget for a 31mm Nagler 🤣 🤣🤣
