Getting back in after.. 7 years. Help with binocs/tripod set-up?

Recommended Posts

Haven't stargazed since 2016 when I moved to Oregon and just couldn't see anything. Moved to South Carolina in farmland and it's very dark, so I want to get back into it. I used to have a 10" dobsonian but want to start fresh with binoculars.

Can anyone help me out here with what I'm planning on buying?

- Binoculars: Pentax 10x50's - which I had before and liked.

- A gravity chair

- Tri-pod with pistol grip (attached).

- Binocular Tripod Adaptor

*** My wife said, years ago, that I had a set-up where I was laying in the chair, had the tripod next to me, and it was kind of aimed horizontal so it was in front of my face, and I used the pistol grip to swivel around... I don't recall the set-up I had. What would I need to buy to be able to do this? Like a Horizontal bar for the tri-pod, that attached with a ball joint or something, then took off the pistol grip and used that in front of my face. Does this make any sense?

Trying to figure out what exactly I need to buy for this set-up (laying in chair, tripod to my side, with a bar to my head and adjustable pistol grip being held in front of my face)

- Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/TARION-Extension-Detachable-Horizontal-Photography/dp/B08TM5XJ9Q/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1W60DSFJTNOKH&keywords=horizontal+tripod+arm+binocular&qid=1666462911&sprefix=horizontal+tripod+arm+binocul%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-1

with a ball joint?

Thanks!
