New apo for astrophotography

Recommended Posts

Hi just another newbie interested in astrophotography at the moment I have the skywatcher 127 mak but now looking for the obvious step up to small refractor for astrophotography was eyeing the evolux 62ed but flo won't have any stock for probably well over a month and the recent price hike in wo scopes on flo website probably now puts them out off my range any idea's please 🙏

Welcome to SGL 🙂

It may well be in stock at RVO (sorry FLO)

https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/skywatcher-evolux-62ed-apochromatic-refractor-ota.html

Or you could do some more research and get involved in SGL to learn a bit more about AP and then when you have had enough posts (genuine posts) you will be able to use the buy and sell section and often scopes around this focal length are up for sale so you could save some pennies.

Thanks guys rvo do have 62ed in stock and the suggested altair 60ed looks promising and comes in at£489 with the added optional reducer flattener but not seen any reviews or images from this setup also considering rvo,s own branded horizon 60ed any experience with this scope have seen Martin photos review and he seems very impressed with it

I have owned a William Optics z61 for a number of years and have never had an issue with it, imaging lunar, planetary, solar (with filters) and DSO. Visual it's very sharp and chromatic aberration free too with its FPL53 synthetic fluorite glass. Focuser is precise. Only issue is that it might cost you a bit more especially with the flattener or flattener reducer, also if you want more mounting shoes for the top of it, or the cat handle tube ring.
