Flats - how ??

No, you just expose long enough to get an even gray where your pixels are saturated to 30-50% of their fully bright value. How long that is depends on your source of flat gray light, camera, filters, etc. For me it's between 0.5 and 5 seconds with various combinations of gear.

Karlo, the DSS help suggests putting the camera in Av mode and letting it work out the correct exposure. In most cases it puts the histogram on the 80% bar on the right of the frame (if that makes sense). Seems to work well.
