I've decided to get one EP first, then later the platform, being old and poor.....😉

 

 

 

Great minds 😁 thank you as that isn't quite as pricey as I thought they were, I now just have to look more into how they work, I'm assuming they are far better to do photo and video with so certainly something else to think about. 

Like you I'll have to purchase in steps which is why I picked up my Dob second hand for £175 just needed a clean and gave me a little change to use on a decent eyepiece.

I'm sure most if not all of you know about this already but as a newcomer I found this to be fantastic and would say a brilliant tool for someone starting out as a rough guide of what to expect from different sized eyepieces.

It's Astronomy Tools link above but I believe it uses Cartes du Ciel.
