GEM45 iPolar - 0 Stars Detected

Hi,

 

I have a recently purchased (few months now) GEM45 with iPolar. In the last three to four attempts using iPolar, it connects to the iPolar but then says 0 stars detected. I've tried this using my Mac and Parallels windows version. I'm at a loss...on whats going on.

It shows the USB/driver connect for the software and then nothing for stars.
