Sharpcap or icap, which is the better?

Recommended Posts

I’ve just purchased a used Celestron neximage 5 camera, I’ve down loaded icap 2.4 and Sharpcap 3.2, but which would be better to use? I’ve read a review from years ago and they weren’t too convinced with the icap 2.2 that came on the cd. Sharpcap recognises the neximage 5 so no connection issues, but I wish to know which is the preferred choice of software.

Personally, my choice...... SHARPCAP.

It does require a on-going license fee for full functionality, but I think there is a free variant.    It offers so much more than ICAP, which I believe is just a display/capture  tool for Celestron cameras.

The guy behind SHARPCAP (Robin)  has always been really helpful whenever I have had a problem and seems very focused on refining the product to make it even better.

SEan.
