Connect my observatory through ethernet cable

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this.

I have an Eagle 3pro in my observatory which I have connected to a router via ethernet cable, from that router I have a 30m long ethernet cable to another router in my house which I would like to use as access point for the eagle computer.

Its all set up but I just can't figure out what setting to use for the routers.

The Eagle is a normal windows computer which you can run though remote desktop

Kind regards

Roger

Is your kit really connected with routers or switches? Apart from the router for your internet connection coming in to the house you shouldn't need another one for a normal domestic network. If they are typical switches "daisychained" together you shouldn't need to do much at all to have each bit of kit see each other.

I think this comment is correct.

What operating systems are you using? I have found that Windows 7 networking works just fine, wheras Windows 7 to Windows 10 is internmittent and a PITA.
