Gassendi area Rukl map 52

Gassendi area taken last night 06 Feb 09 with the Celestron CPC-1100 and DMK-31 mono usb camera. Does everyone find it hard to image when the moon is near full as I do??

Nice shot there, though it looks like the seeing was a little soft. Have you tried using a red or IR-pass filter to cut through the seeing? I really struggled to get sharp moon images with the C11, which is why I flogged it and got a smaller Mak.

Re: near full moon, yes totally agree - the contrast is poor on and around full moon is the sun light is falling almost flat onto the moon.

What sort of resolution do you get with the DMK31? Is it worth the step up from the 21?
