FInder Scope Base

Hi All...

I'm thinking of replacing the 9x30 straight through finder on my SkyWatcher 127 Mak with a right angle finder.

Are the base (shoe) sizes fairly universal, or are they manufacture specific??

For instance, if I found an Orion 9x50 finder like this one http://www.telescopehouse.com/acatalog/Orion_9x50_Right_Angle_Finder.html

Would it fit my existing SkyWatcher base (shoe)??

That'll teach me for asking before I do some digging!!

I may have answered my own question by looking at the FLO website. They have this shoe http://www.firstlightoptics.com/proddetail.php?prod=SWfinderShoe that "Suits all Synta type finders - Skywatcher, Celestron, Orion, etc."

Glad you found what you wanted. Not all finders are the same though. Tal finders seem to be particularly wide and Orion (the US one) are wider than average too.
