New Tools Revive Old Data?

Recommended Posts

Many times I hear the term "old data" used here on SGL, this makes me curious about how/if old data can be improved upon as the years go by and, new software is made available.

It would be interesting to see some images that were improved/rescued with new and more versatile software. Comparison images would be neat to see, if anyone has examples

of images which were greatly improved with new software then post them here. Being a photographer,  recall what a revelation Adobe Lightroom was for me, Images which i would

have tossed away before were easily corrected working in RAW with Lightroom, it changed everything for me. It would be neat to see how new tools may give new life to old

AP images.

I haven't really seen the tools change much - camera raw to remove flats if you didn't flat field and similar things are coming along nicely, but i guess the biggest advancement for me is just experience - getting better at processing "old" data.
