hi guys, hoping to resolve this issue before a second attempt tonight. i was testing a filter i brought off ebay last night. i was using a canon 550d with a 130mm lens at f4 ISO 1600 and only shooting 4 second exposures.

this is a single sub

i took 10 of these and then stacked them in dss which gave me this image

why is it so pink? and how can i fix this?

thanks rich

GIMP (free software) can also be used to align the colours again.

Your filter is removing the yellow/green component (as most City Light you are Suppressing, ie skyglow, is in the yellow/green part of the spectrum)

Depending on target it can also be good to convert to a mono (Black and White) image.

By moving the sliders for RGB on the completed stack

I copied the single image 5 times, stacked, and then move dthe RGB peaks so that they gave the contrast and corrected the image - Naturally with darks, bias and light frames the image will be better - No need to use imaging processing - DSS has the ability to correct and stretch the data
