Anatomy of a Tadpole

Rodd

Recommended Posts

This is an HaSHO image where the color data (SII, Ha, OIII) was collected with FSQ 106 with .6x reducer, and the Luminance (Ha) was collected with the TOA 130.  The color data represents a super aggressive crop, while the luminance data represents a much less aggressive crop.  The dark structures are a bit soft for my liking, but the image is meant to showcase the tadpoles, so I can live with it.  It always amazes me how much detail can be captured with a 4-5" refractor.  I am looking forward to imaging the tadpoles with the C11Edge - probably not this season though, as I have so much work with the FSQ to complete, and so little clear sky time.

Impressive resolution Rodd! You got me inspired to do the same with my recent RASA 8 image of IC405 & IC410. Since I do not want to steal your thread with my image I post it separately.

Don't worry--not much to steal...just us pigeons.  I'll have a look

Lovely resolution.

They're 11 lightyears long, so I'm told!

Olly

Thanks Olly.  Hard to imagine our entire solar system (Oort cloud and all) would fit  between the two head stars.
