Linking telescope to PC

Recommended Posts

My partner has just bought me a Celestron 6se and I have never Owned one before so lots to learn.    I want to link the telescope to my PC or Mac for image recording and capture and  I see that celestron  have a NexImage range of cameras - would you recommend these?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Be aware that the SE mount is only suitable for planetary imaging.  Some people have used the more expensive Celestron cameras with success, but other brands eg ZWO are more popular.  Don't buy the entry level Celestron planetary camera - I did and had to upgrade as soon as I tried it out.

PC? You have to place it near the mount, so you will need a laptop.

Hi and welcome to SGL.

As mentioned the 6se is more suited to video capture, that works well on planets and the Moon, a ZWO colour camera used along with Firecapture software would suit.

Something like this ZWO ASI 120MC-S USB 3.0 Colour Camera | First Light Optics
