DSLR connection issues

Hi all, first time posting on a forum so be gentle with me if I’m in the wrong place. I have an asiair pro that picks up my ASI120mm-s guide scope but I can’t get it to find either a Canon 5Diii or Cano 750D it either shows a greyed out option to select the guide or none! Both camera’s use different cables so I’m thinking it’s something to do with the asiair, I have looked online and tried plugging the camera’s in before and after turning the air on which has worked for others but not me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So you mean in the “mainCam” menu you dont see your dslr? Are you sure the battery is full and the camera are “on”?   try another Cable?    I have almost the same setup and had never problems. Only sometimes when i forget to turn the dslr on, it indeed shows a greyed out asi120. And thats grey because its already dedicated as my guidecam.   
 

Of course you also tried all the usb ports on the asiair? Cameras in bulb mode etc...

Hi, thanks for the reply. As far as I can see everything is as it should be, both camera’s are charged up and set to bulb. The 750D has a 2.5 to 2.5 cable that works ok with my Pluto Trigger the 5Diii an N3 cable that again works with the Pluto, makes me think it’s the Air that’s the problem. I’ve tried various ways of turning on, Air first, camera first but nothing works.

Hi all. Feeling a total 🔧 missed a clear sky by using the wrong cable, all god now. Many thanks to Robbindonne mentioning trying all USB ports got me thinking that its pilot error rather than machine failure.
