Mars and Neptune Conjunction - 13 June

Recommended Posts

On 13 June, Mars and Neptune will appear a little over 1 and a half degrees apart from each other in the pre-dawn sky. It should provide a good opportunity to see Neptune for anyone that’s not seen it before. The last quarter moon will be directly below them. Nautical dawn is at 2:40AM and at that time Mars will be 8.5 degrees above the horizon and Neptune will be higher still.

I’ve just learned that Neptune has a moon (Nereid) that takes almost an entire Earth year to orbit Neptune! 😳
