M107 The Crucifix Cluster (LRGB) - 15 May 2020

Here is the 3rd and by far the best of three globular clusters that I've captured over the past few nights. M107 is known as the Crucifix Cluster, so I've displayed it portrait to better show it's titular asterism.

The data was captured with my C14+Optec lens and QSI583wsg-5 camera combo, using Astronomic LRGB filters. L=20x2m, RGB=10x2m each.

Thanks for looking.

Very nicely done, well resolved right into the core, and yes, the asterism does look like a cross. good range of star colours too.

Thanks Dave, this one turned out better than I expected having already processed M9 and M19 which I captured the same night. It just shows what a huge difference altitude and astro dark makes, as even though at <25 degrees altitude the guiding was very good, but by the time I got down to M9 (<20deg) and M19 (<10deg) both captured in a brightening sky, it all went to pot...
