New Explanation for Oumuamua's Weird Shape

Sounds fairly plausible to me. Even if planet-shredding events are very rare a single event could produce billions or trillions of elongated fragments. I also wonder if the red giant stage and planetary nebulae formation could stir up outer stellar systems and eject lage numbers of bodies.

But what's really needed is a census of interstellar objects, Oumuamua types could be rare or it may be an outlier. The LSST may be able to provide his, as long as StarLink and its ilk don't wreck the data collection.

Indeed, a nice idea... Also came across random Oumuamua link recently:

Set me thinking re. a (suprising?) number of elongated beach pebbles. 🤔

But then a lot of rock is originally stratified / crystalline? Also recalled Startrek's "Gorn Rock". lol.

Featured in a number of Movie scenes! (Had also suspected that too!) 🥳
