1st Attempts of M45 with a 450D

Hi I took these images using my Canon 450D, in prime focus on a SW 200P at ISO 1600 exp. 30secs

Any pointers on how I can better these images ?

I'm impressed for 30 secs on a dob I would have expected star trialing.

Thanks Billy, im still trying to understand what Flats, Subs & Darks do or how to make them, I've fiddled out with DSS - but still trying to find a dummies guide on how to use it.

That's a good 30 second image Deneb. The stars are nice and round with good focus. All you need to do now is get more overall exposure time.

Go for the longest exposures you can manage before star trailing appears.
