Questions about Astronomik CLS filter

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I have just bought an Astronomik CLS filter recently. Being galaxy season I would like to image a few galaxies myself. My question is whether it is a good idea to be using this filter on galaxies as I have heard that they benefit emission nebulae the most. I am just worried that I may be doing more harm than good to the quality of my subs since galaxies emit along the whole spectrum so some if the signal is cut off. Just for a bit of context, I live under bortle 8/9 skies and I have a stock Canon 650d attached to a skywatcher evostar 72ed mounted to a star adventurer. Thanks in advance!

This was taken using a Astronomic CLS filter so i don't think it does any harm.

Wow amazing! Would you mind telling me the length of each sub-exposure and total integration time? Also, did you have any trouble processing problems with the color balance? Thanks!
