M42- how high ??

Is anyone able to tell me what the max' height M42 reaches in the sky in the winter months and when ??

Starry Night shows roughly 32 deg from my location , the time depends on the date (and vice versa).

I measured Alnitak from my location here in Leeds last night as 33' 49" at about 12:13am, but just wondered whether it gets any higher in a few weeks. Cos otherwise it won't clear the top of the house from the pier. It means I have to catch it earlier in the evening in the Sth East ( More LP !! )

It'll get to the same height earlier in the evening over the next few weeks, but not any higher at its highest.

If you look at it when it's due south then that's when it's at its highest.
