I know this is probably not the place to post this (please move if not! :-)

But has anyone taken a closer look at the Hubble image of the sumberero galaxy m104?

I have it on my wall and on closer inspection, noticed a mass of more distance galaxies.

I was only scanning for a short while but i think i spotted at least a dozen in that vacinity.

has anyone else noticed this?

just wondered

thanks

Indeed I have! But this is nothing surprising. Just about any deep sky image of sufficient light grasp, of a region of sky away from the MW plane, will show countless background galaxies - indeed, below a certain magnitude, they become more numerous than stars. And let's face it - what other telescopes have the light grasp of the HST!

The M104 is interesting in that you can see background galaxies through the glow of M104.
