Grey Fits files in PixInsight

Recommended Posts

Hiya

I just tried stacking some light frames for LRGB on M101 in Astroart. I then took the stacked Fits files in to PixInsight to try out the star alignment process.. I'm new to PI so just dipping in and trying to learn some new things. When I open the files they appear grey. Is there a way around  this or do I need to stack them again in PI. I don't have calibration frames so batch processing wouldn't work here. Any ideas much appreciated.

A quick and rough guide for PI,

Open up ImageRegistration/StarAlignment

Add files and from those files choose one as a reference image.

Set your output folder and hit the circular button at the base. Wait for it to complete.

If the images need to be debayered...Select the Debayer from the list. Add grey images and select output folder. Check you have the correct Debeyer settings ( Atik 4120ex uses GRBG. )  Hit run button.

Open ImageInegration/Imageintegration. Add those output files to the large list window and hit the go button.

It will output an image in that workplace window. Stretch it by hitting the radiation button to check out the image.

Thanks for the info. I don't need to debayer as I'm just using LRGB from a mono ccd. I should have said.

Its quite easy stacking in astro art so I thought I would try it that way. Will have a look again later.
