I decided to live dangerously tonight and... adjusted focus. I haven't dared to touch it for a few sessions. Not sure I improved things, it was hard to judge with the wild seeing.

Skymax 102, ASI178MM, Wratten #8 filter, AS!, best 50% of 5000 10ms frames at middlish gain

I did have some equipment hassle last night that messed up a couple of captures. The AZ-GTi would point-and-track just fine, then would spontaneously start slewing. Probably related to my experiment of running the SynScan app simultaneously on my laptop and my phone.

Some nice detail visible there. Are you using the histogram to see how bright your image capture is?

To be honest I haven't figured out the histogram in SharpCap.
