Orion camera adapter for Dakota 62mm..??

Can anyone help me identifying what this adapter fits to, and does! 

And what is a Dakota 62mm? Camera? Who makes it? Can it fit other cameras?

what does it do? It has optics inside as can be seen in the pictures but I’m none the wiser.

 I have googled it but to no avail.

It measures 145mm long, with threaded diameters of 42mm, god knows what the 62mm refers to!

Thank you, now I know that this so you can put a camera on it, making a focal length of 1000mm.

Anyone have a Orion Dakota spotting scope that they want to take pictures with?
