EQ5 Dual Axis Drive Handset Dismantling

Hi Guys

Has anyone opened up the casing of the EQ5 Dual motor drive handset?

If so, do the RA and DEC finger pads just clip off to enable you to completely open up the casing ?

The reason i want to do this is to hard wire in lieu of plugging in the battery plug into the socket on the handset(which just seems such a pain in the neck due to sloppy fit causing intermittent power failure if the handset is not held vertically)

I opened up the single axis drive controller and yes, they were just a push fit. A tight push fit though. Just when you think that they are about to break, they pop off.

I know thay Sam (Lightbucket) has opened the dual axis controller, he might be along in a minute to confirm.
