A complete beginners idiot guide?

Hi, im just wandering if there is a step by step guide available on here for extreme beginners.... if so could anyone point me in the right direction?

If not anyone fancy writing one lol.. just or just some links to useful posts to get me started.

Ive managed to view the moon however would like to first learn to get an over all grasp of when where and how to look.. as well as using my scope properly! My main goal is I want to be able to see Saturn.

If you have access to a Windows or Linux PC or a Mac, try a program called Stellarium. It will help you learn the sky and show you where to look for planets.

As far as a guide goes, get a copy of the book Turn Left At Orion, it contains good diagrams and will guide you to some of the best objects.
