Shutter count

Hello

im very new to astronomy and learning a lot from the forum.

i would like to get a second hand DSLR for astrophotography.

i have found a Canon D600 which seems to be reccomended.

it is £100 body only and i would attempt to astro modify it. It has a shutter count of 25000 is that reasonable or should i look for a lower shutter count?

I had two 40d cameras, one with 100k shutter count and one with under 10k. There was no difference in the images. 25k is pretty reasonable anyway, it wouldn’t be an issue.

Expected shutter life for (I expect you mean) 600D is 100,000 actuations.

£100 for 25000 sounds about right.

If you are going to mod it yourself, have you read how to adjust the Torx screws holding the sensor ?

If you can't do that accurately, the sensor will be tilted.

Earlier models (up to 550D) have shims that ensure the sensor goes back in correctly.

i had watched a long video and read quite a detailed step by step.

i thought modding might be something i could do but i may rethink that given the advice and use a professional
