Bizarre stacked image

I thought I'd stack together 4 nights of imaging on the Flaming Star Nebula.... all of the individual subs look ok, but here's the stacked image! Looks like a cross-stitch! Haven't seen anything like this before.

I'm assuming that you've used an OSC (or SLR) and that the images haven't been debayered before stacking?

Well, I've never seen this problem before. Because there were quite a lot of subs, around 280, DSS wanted to do another kind of debayering to the usual bilinear. AHD debayering was what it suggested so I chose this option.
