Here's a not very inspiring image of M67 (12 x 4min lights) taken with a Borg90FL and a Canon 60Da.

Help please, the brighter stars in this image have blue halos, what could cause this problem (camera alignment, telescope lens, poor focus) ?

Thanks

Hi.

When I produced images with blue halos I was told it was "blue bloat" (sounds like an unpleasant personal affliction!) and a function of my ED80 optics not being of the highest quality. I was using a UV/IR cut filter with Baader RGB 1.25" filters with a mono CCD. I subsequently had the blue filter replaced by FLO and it made an improvement but the halos were still there; I can never achieve comparable FWHM figures with the blue filter. I am sure your Borg is of much higher optical quality than my ED80 so not likely to suffer from the dreaded bloat.

Sorry I cannot be of any help.

Adrian
