Heads-up to a problem

Recommended Posts

I have just got a (pre owned) Celestron Edge HD 8 with their standard DSLR T mount adapter on the back when imaging ( https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/celestron-8-inch-edgehd-t-adapter.html  ). This T thread also fits my Xagyl 5 position USB filter wheel which is handy when using my cooled ccd camera instead of the DSLR.

However - I have found a problem if the Xagyl is loaded with Baader standard screw mount 1¼" filters - the T thread just catches the top of the filters preventing the carriage from rotating.

You will either need to take a few thou off the thread length of add a spacer under the flange on Celestron's DSLR T adapter.

I've taken 15 thou off mine and the filter wheel now turns easily.
