NB imaging Question

Hi all

Sorry...so many questions.

Is NB imaging only suitable for certain subject.  I presume subjects which is heavy in Ha, emission nebulae etc.  How does NB perform on reflection nebulae and galaxies? Of course I know those targets are more suited to RGB and LRGB but is it possible to shoot those targets with NB and if so what would the reault be like?

Many Thanks

Rob

Short answer: yes.

Remember, in emission nebulae, you are actually seeing the nebula material being excited and emitting. So whatever element is in the nebula and is being excited is what you are seeing. Reflection nebulae are a waste of time (the light from them is reflected starlight, rather than light being generated by the elements in the nebula) and galaxies pretty much the same, although adding some Ha data to galaxies can be good to show where the star-forming (active hydrogen) areas are.

Supernova remnants and planetary nebulae are also good in NB.
