Astro-Tech/Altair Astro/GSO Coma Corrector and User Guide

Recommended Posts

I have a GSO f:5 reflector. I just acquired the GSO Coma Corrector and .75 spacer. I just need to get this correct in my head. 1) The 2" extension tube stays in the scope? 2) The 2" eyepiece holder couples to the spacer and then the coma corrector lens housing? This assy. then slides into the 2" eyepiece extender tube? Am I on track with this? Thanks!!

Yep, pretty much.  Just beware of the thumbscrews.  One stripped its threads and got stuck in the housing.  I replaced the other one with a nice blackened steel M4 cap screw.  Those Chinese sourced screws are made from some sort of cast pot metal instead of machined steel.  It's not the first one I've had strip and/or snap in two.
