Two from last night.

Well, last night (7th January) was the first clear night here in NE England since Christmas Eve.  That wretched cloud filled high pressure has finally shifted.  Wasn't it the case years ago that high pressure almost always meant clear skies??  Very windy, but my Obsy plus Active Optics unit stopped that spoiling my night.  Two Open Clusters were on my list, and although it clouded over around 1 am, I got enough data.  Both pretty high in Cassiopeia, so although the seeing wasn't very good, I'm reasonably happy.  Firstly King 20,  Luminance 10 x 5 minutes, RGB each 5 x 5 minutes, followed by NGC663, Luminance 9 x 5 minutes, RGB each 5 x 5 minutes.  All with QSI683wsg on RC10 Truss (2m f8) with Starlight Xpress AO unit.  I know that the area around NGC2264 (the Cone Nebula) is popularly named the 'Christmas Tree Cluster', but I reckon King 20 deserves it more!  So I've enhanced the star colours to light it up ?  Pity I couldn't get it in December!  But anyway Happy New Year to all.

Cheers,

Peter
