Rusted
Making interesting progress in my solar viewing despite many hours of being teased by endless cloud. White light was a completely blank disk using Baader DIY full aperture foil in the 7" F/12 iStar with 32, 26 and 20mm EPs. H-alpha showed three prominences in my D-ERF/PST modified 150 f/8. Then I tried my T-E binoviewer [straight through] with 32mm and 26mm Meade 4000 pairs. For 41x & 50x allowing for 100mm light path increase. Very comfortable and relaxed viewing of the whole disk with the 26mm preferred for good image size. Then I added the GPC corrector for a huge sun but it immediately clouded over. Grr! Considering how low the sun is at 55N [12 degrees at max] I am still getting nicely sharp images. The image shows my birch plywood dome has been attacked by black mold. I'm going to try a sodium bicarbonate solution on it. ?♂️ Perhaps the frost will kill it?
