Guiding with Atik 16ic under Linux

Hello guys,

I have an Atik 16ic running under Astronomy Ubuntu 16.04.  When I install the Atik 16ic, the system recognises it and there is an entry for it in the system log.

When I start oaCapture, it recognises the camera but crashes.

However under PHD2, INDI and Lin-Guider there is nothing.

Any ideas how to use this nice little camera under Linux?

Regards

Steve.

I can't offer much help with PHD2, INDI or LinGuider, but I'll try to fix it for oacapture.  Not sure why it doesn't work already to be honest.  I'm thought I tested it on 16.04.

It may well be that PHD2, INDI and LinGuider don't have drivers for the camera.  I had to write my own.

I'll send you the oaCapture error message, it was failure to flush queue, or something.

PHD (the original) seemed to have support for 16ic, but it was removed.

If the others don't have drivers I could maybe find the original, reinstitute it, and recompile.

Regards,

Steve.

This is all I have.  oaCapture is running but it hasn't crashed yet.

Actually, I think the crash is caused by no camera.  I connect the camera and wait, it connects and then automatically disconnects.

I can see the camera in the drop-down list. I click, I get a tick on the dd list and an entry in the status bar.

If I click record, it crashes, but if I just wait, the camera disconnects, the status bar clears and the tick disappears from the drop-down list.

Steve,

OK, I updated the version to 1.4.  Much nicer, but still same behaviour.

Steve.
