Difference between Autostar and Autostar II?

I recently acquired a Meade scope with an Autostar handset. I know there's an upgraded version now - Autostar 2. The question is, what's the difference between the 1 and 2? Is it worth upgrading mine to Autostar II? Any gains? Or, I'm just wasting my time?

There are basically two types of Meade scopes:

1.  ETX's and LX90's, which use type 497 Autostar.

These have all the computing power in the handset.

2.  LX2OOGPS's, which have Autostar II.

All the computing power is in the mount base, the handset is just a remote keypad basically.

So you can't  swap or upgrade between the two types I'm  afraid.
