Mars 31/7/2018

Surprisingly the detail was quite subdued, perhaps due to dust, however over time albedo features did show through. The region on show was Sinus Meridiani and Margeritifer. Attached is the eyepiece sketch built up over a short time, as initially the disc was almost featureless. The observation was made using a prism diagonal, so north is roughly top.

Hi  Mike,  another great drawing showing a lot of surface details. I sketched Mars last night August 2/3 but the result may not be worthy of posting, I will decide later.  I still find the dark features to be of fairly low contrast, perhaps I need a contrast booster?.  Clear Skies.  Chris.
